Satish Malhotra , Chief Executive Officer & President

A seasoned retail executive with decades of diverse experience, Satish Malhotra joined The Container Store in February 2021 as Chief Executive Officer and President. 

As CEO and President, Satish has outlined a vision to double The Container Store’s sales, a “Path to $2 Billion,” and led the company through its articulation of a new brand purpose and branding campaign. In his first two years, Satish has overseen the launch of the Organized Insider loyalty program and The Container Store App, the opening of its first 3 small-format stores, significant investment in eCommerce improvements, a renewed focus on the customer experience, key additions to The Container Store leadership team, and the release of the company’s first-ever sustainability report. The company has also raised its minimum wage to $15/hour, and Satish Malhotra has added his name to the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion Pledge. 

During Satish’s tenure, The Container Store has been recognized as a 2023 Forbes Customer Experience All Star, and its App has reached a 4.7 App Store rating, ranking within the top 200 apps in shopping. In 2022, The Container Store’s branding campaign won Grand Prize and Strategy of the Year in the PR Daily Content Marketing Awards and Best Use of TikTok in Digiday’s Content Marketing Awards. 

In 2022, Satish led The Container Store through its ClosetWorks acquisition and the launch of its Custom Spaces brand architecture, studios and newest premium, wood-based custom line, Preston – developments that enable The Container Store to transform lives through the power of organization throughout the home – and a key component of the Path to $2 Billion.

For the previous 21 years, Satish held various leadership roles at prestige beauty retailer Sephora Americas, most recently as Chief Retail Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Satish was responsible for leading Sephora’s retail growth by expanding its in-store services and experiences, developing digitally enabled solutions and by growing its off-mall store locations.

Prior to that role, Satish served as Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for Technology, Supply Chain, Store Development, Legal, Strategy and Partnerships, including the Sephora inside JCPenney (SiJCP) business, which now operates in over 600 stores. He also spent several years overseeing Sephora’s expansion into Canada and Latin America.

Before joining Sephora, Satish was a Transaction Services Senior Associate at PwC. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Throughout his career, Satish has excelled at developing and growing new sales channels, solving complex “back of the house” problems with innovative solutions, and attracting and developing high performing talent. Among his many career highlights: transforming Sephora’s IT department to a Center of Excellence within parent company LVMH, launching all of Sephora’s digital commerce properties (including website, mobile, social and CRM), strengthening Sephora’s supply chain to enable 98% of online orders to be received by consumers within two business days, developing an off-mall store concept which dramatically improved Sephora’s accessibility to its consumers, and led the efforts in creating Sephora’s purpose of “inspiring fearlessness”. 

In 2020, he was presented with the Innovation Leadership Award from the World Retail Forum. 

A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Walter A. Haas School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Satish has also completed the LVMH Inspiring Entrepreneurs Senior Executive Leadership Program. 

Malhotra currently resides in Flower Mound, Texas, with his wife, two children and their Coton du Tulear. 

Jeff Miller , Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Miller has been with The Container Store since August 2013 and has served as our Chief Financial Officer since August 2020. Jeff is responsible for the business areas of Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Information Security, Procurement and Internal Audit. Previously, Jeff served as our Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to joining The Container Store, Jeff was at FedEx Office for over 10 years and served in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility, progressing to Vice President and Controller from 2008 until his departure. Jeff began his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. He brings over 25 years of accounting and finance experience to the Chief Financial Officer role.

Jeff is a graduate of The University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant.

Melissa Collins , Chief Marketing Officer

Melissa Collins has been with The Container Store for 22 years and has served as our Chief Marketing Officer since July 2016. Ms. Collins serves as the Company’s primary marketing strategist, and oversees such key functional areas as brand positioning, advertising, public relations, digital marketing, visual merchandising, e-commerce, social media and “POP! Perfectly Organized Perks”, our customer engagement and loyalty program. Previously, from August 2008 to July 2016, Ms. Collins served as Vice President of Creative and Online. Prior to that, she served in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility, beginning as Art Director and progressing to Senior Director of Creative and Online Services.

 

Dhritiman Saha , Chief Operating Officer

Dhriti Saha is The Container Store’s Chief Operating Officer overseeing technology, information security, product management, retail operations and logistics. He joined The Container Store as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer in May 2021, bringing more than 27 years of expertise in P&L, leading and managing multi-billion dollar ecommerce transformation & growth, digital marketing, subscription business, omnichannel customer experience, technology and global operations.

Prior to joining The Container Store, Dhriti served as the Chief Digital Officer at GameStop from February 2021 to April 2021 and led e-commerce business, digital marketing & customer experience, online assortment expansion, digital and omnichannel technology & product management. Prior to GameStop, Dhriti served as Global Chief Customer and Digital Officer at Bodybuilding.com from December 2018 to February 2020 and as Senior Vice President of Digital for JCPenny from April 2014 to December 2018. Throughout Dhriti’s extensive career, he has also served in a variety of leadership roles driving technology and omnichannel business transformation at other chain retailers such as Target and Kohls.

Dhriti received his MBA from Johns Hopkins University and completed his bachelors degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering in Jalandhar, India.

Gretchen Ganc , Executive Vice President of Strategy and Analytics

Gretchen Ganc joined The Container Store in December 2017. Gretchen’s duties include supporting key performance management processes, such as monthly operating and strategic reviews, as well as partnering with leadership on high-priority initiatives to ensure resources are fully optimized. She is also responsible for leading other value-creating opportunities for the company including pricing, testing, and Business Solutions. Previously, Gretchen was with JCPenney in multiple leadership roles including Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Business Development and Vice President of Customer Analytics, Insights & Strategy. She also held leadership positions with other retailers including Fossil Group and Ann Taylor. Earlier in her career, she served as a strategy consultant with Bain & Company and as an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston.

Gretchen is a graduate of The University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in finance and computer applications. She earned her master’s degree in business administration from Dartmouth College.

John Marazio , Executive Vice President of Human Resources

With more than three decades of experience in the luxury retail industry, John Marazio joined The Container Store in 2020 to lead its wide-ranging human resources function. He brings to the position vast knowledge of and expertise in recruitment, performance management, associate relations, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement.

John has spent the majority of his career with the Neiman Marcus Group, most recently as Vice President, Human Resources for Neiman Marcus, Last Call and Bergdorf Goodman. In that role, he advised senior leaders on human resource matters and led a team of HR directors and managers. Among the many highlights of his work were the design and successful implementation of an omni-merchant reorganization, and the development of the first NMG Internship Program.

Previously, John served as Vice President, Human Resources for Bergdorf Goodman and in a number of other HR management roles for Neiman Marcus Group at the state and local level. Early in his career, he worked at Saks Fifth Avenue and Pace University. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

John is a graduate of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communication Arts; and of the College of New Rochelle, earning a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Career Development.

Stacey Shively , Chief Merchandising Officer

Stacey Shively joined The Container Store in November 2022 as Chief Merchandising Officer. She leads a diverse merchandising team and plays a key role in strategic initiatives including the company’s growing private label products, sustainability and expansion of Custom Spaces.

Most recently, Shively was the senior vice president and head of merchandising and product development at Bed Bath & Beyond. She has a proven track record in successfully managing assortment planning, product development and national and private label brands while driving profitable sales. Prior to Bed Bath & Beyond, she served as the senior vice president, general merchandise manager for JCPenney's home division where she was responsible for overseeing their merchandising strategies for home product categories. She began her career at Target where she held roles in merchandising and planning with increasing responsibility during her 14-year tenure. Shively also held leadership positions at Bluestem Brands and Dollar Tree.

Lindy Rawlinson , Executive Vice President of Ecommerce and Digital Marketing

Retail industry veteran Lindy Rawlinson joined The Container Store in 2021. She serves as Executive Vice President, Ecommerce and Digital Marketing, leveraging more than 20 years of experience in digital retail.

For much of her career in retailing, Lindy held a variety of managerial and senior leadership positions with The Neiman Marcus Group. She served as the company’s Senior Vice President of Ecommerce and Customer Experience, where she led strategies for ecommerce growth, enhanced the customer experience and developed the product management organization. In her most recent position prior to joining The Container Store, Lindy served as the Chief Digital Officer for StreetTrend where she led digital growth for the P448 sneaker brand.

Lindy is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Rice University.

Jennifer Pape , Vice President of Stores

Jen Pape joined The Container Store in 2015 and was promoted to Vice President of Stores in July 2022.

Among her responsibilities in guiding the Store Leadership Team and the store fleet is developing and driving strategic priorities and employee engagement, along with overseeing store operations and customer experience. Jen collaborates with Store Leadership and Support Center teams to plan and execute such initiatives as change management and communications, and monitors and ensures achievement of store performance goals, payroll, KPIs, loyalty, and operational profitability targets.

She served as the company’s North Regional Director and Area Director for Great Lakes, leading and supporting the opening of over 12 new stores.

Jen has more than 20 years of retailing experience. Before joining The Container Store in 2015, Jen was DM Midwest Outlets for Fossil Group. Much of her career was spent at Eddie Bauer, in several leadership roles including: Director Operations – Sales and Service; Regional HR Manager – Central U.S. and Canada. Earlier in her career, she served in District Manager positions at Starbucks and Ann Taylor Loft.

A graduate of Purdue University, Jen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in consumer and family sciences.

When not at work, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and friends outdoors, traveling and experiencing new restaurants and food shared with others.
